Final Drawing on Objects drawing: Peaceful Thinking

At first I created the wood box that would hold the sand and the meditating man. I then collected the sand from Vilano beach, that would go inside the box. I created the meditating man, with the ying-yang by drawing out the design on paper and cutting it out using an exacto knife. After cutting out the design I wrapped it masking tape, going up. I then placed it in the box before putting the colored sand. I colored the sand using acrylic paint and mixing it with my hands. Then I placed the colored sand according to the chakra.

Final Repetition Drawing: When Colors Collide

My first essential idea was to creat an abstract expressionist art work. I used a straw and six different colors of drawing ink. I would use drips collecting the ink from the straw and would randomly placed it on the canvas. I did this until I ran out of the 12 vials of ink.

Final Documentation Drawing: A DayToday of Austin Markis life

I collected receipts from my car and then placed it on the paper using rubber cement. I wanted the receipts to be the canvas. Once all the receipts were placed, I collected 10 icons from the receipts and incorporated them into the drawing. I used crayon to color the icons because of the texture it created on the receipt surface. I wanted to leave some sort of visibility of the things I bought.

Final Narrative Drawing: Anxiety Flight

This drawing is related to the fact of my fear of flying on airplanes. First I wanted to create a abstract landscape of the sky. With the formation of the clouds I took trash mainly paper, and then taped it creating an illusion of clouds forming and coming out of the background. For the creation of the airplane I used a white board and cut out the layout of a typical commercial airplane, then wrapping it with tape to give it a shape and sturdiness. On the bottom of the plane I created paper pillars covering it with acrylic paint, then taping it to the bottom and I wanted the length of the paper pillar to look as if it will hit the ground but it in fact does not hit the ground. When taping the plane on the landscape, I used tape and randomly placed it on the plane to the background. After that I used a string and connected it to the wall, and to a nail above the plane. I wanted it to be a pun for "hanging by a string."

Final Drawing from Series Drawing

Created a space-like landscape, with a ufo in it using a combination of acrylic paint and pastel. After that I used my method of flipping a painted quarter on to the canvas using purple, white, dark grey, and red paint. Once I was satisfied with the outcome I put an elephant and a floating astronaut a used rubber cement and pasted the two drawing on to the drawing.

Memory House Drawing

After completing the assignment in class while using only lead to draw from memory alone of my childhood home. Once, completing it I went back in with blue ink and drew geometric forms containing the initial lead drawing. Then I tried to mimic an abstract gesture of leaving random brush stokes of purple and green ink. The colors, were significant because it was the color of my room when I was a child. The final step I did was collaging the canvas with images .

White paper drawing with gesso

In my gesso and white paper drawing I wanted to use the paper and layer it on top of the gesso. I would fold, and crumple up the paper, and then used the gesso a s a adhesive to hold the crumpled paper in place. Once building, I saw that the paper would in fact create dimension, and shape.
